First Month
On the 21st day after conception, your baby’s heart is
beating. By day 30 your baby’s arms, legs eyes and ears
have begun to show. Your baby has
already grown 10,000 times larger than the
original fertilized egg. On day 35
his
tiny fingers can be discerned in his hand. Your baby is already a
well-developed little person before you ever
know
you are pregnant.
Second Month
Your baby is a little more than an inch long. His liver and kidneys
are functioning, his stomach produces digestive juices, and his nervous
system
and 40 sets of muscles begin to operate. His jaw, teeth buds and gums
form this month. Everything that will be found in a fully developed adult is
now present in your baby. If you could touch your baby,
he would respond to
your touch. His heart has been beating for more than a month now.
By the
ninth week fingerprints are evident in his tiny fingers, and he will curl
his fingers around an object placed in his hand. By day 40 his brain waves
can be detected and recorded. This month is probably when you first found
out you
were pregnant.
Third Month
Your baby has doubled in length since last month. He is now over two inches
long and his muscle movements are becoming coordinated. He turns
his head,
curls his toes, and closes his mouth. Hair begins to grow on his body.
Forth Month
Your baby has gone through a major growth spurt this last month. He is now
eight to ten inches long and weighs
half a pound or more. You areprobably
starting to show at this point. Your baby's ears are functioning and there
is evidence that he can hear your voice, your heartbeat, and
external noises
at this point. The umbilical cord transports
300 quarts of fluid per day and
completes a round-trip of fluids every 30 seconds.
Fifth Month
Half of your pregnancy is now passed. Your baby is 12 inches long. You
should feel your baby's movements this month. He may jump in reaction
to a
loud noise.
Sixth Month
Your baby's
