James 4:17            The Sin of Omission
“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
James 4:17

No matter how many times I read this verse, it is convicting. “Therefore to him that knoweth
to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
This means I don’t have to do something wrong
to sin. I just have to know there was something right to do, and decide not to do it. I know it
is right to read my Bible. Is it sin if I don’t? I know I am supposed to pray for those in authority.
Is it sin if I don’t? I know I am supposed to love my neighbor as myself. Is it sin if I don’t? The answer to all these questions is yes. Because, “
to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it
not, to him it is sin.”
