Leviticus 10:10
The Difference
And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and
clean;
Leviticus 10:10
After giving Aaron and his sons a list
of instructions, Moses explained one of the reasons
why they needed to follow them. They, as the priests of the Lord, were to be God’s
testimony,
and it was their duty to be an example of how the Jews should live. As
Christians, we are
also to be God’s testimony. I believe anyone should be able to see how we handle
life’s chaotic circumstances and it be very clear the difference between us and
the rest of the world.
The way we act, react, and interact should make it obvious that we are a
Christian. Is it? NEN
Leviticus 11:7
God Knows More
"And
the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not
the cud; he
is unclean to you."
Leviticus
11:7
God is so amazing. He even created
commandments of what the children of Israel should eat in order to keep them
safe. If the Israelites had eaten swine in the wilderness, a large number of
them could have died because they did not have the ability to heat the meat
thoroughly enough
to kill the trichina worm found in pork. This is just one example
of God’s wisdom and faithfulness in the protection of His children. In the New Testament,
Christians are called the children of God. As His children, we are given many
commands. Sometimes the commands can seem very hard
to follow; but we should always keep
in mind, the same wise and loving God that commanded
the Israelites is the same
One Who commands us. NEN - E
Matthew 26:3-5
Don't Always Just Go With the Flow
Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of
the people,
unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, And consulted that
they might
take Jesus by subtilty, and kill Him. But they said, Not on the feast day, lest
there be an
uproar among the people.
Matthew 26:3-5
The leaders of Israel were afraid to take and kill
Jesus on the feast day because they thought
that it would cause an uproar. How, then, can it be explained that on the first
day of the feast
they captured Jesus and on the second day persuaded the people to destroy him. I
believe the answer is simple. When the Chief priests and elders said what to do,
the people blindly followed. Their government said “this is a good idea” so they
just did it. Throughout history it has been proven that one good talker can sway
the decision of an entire mob. If someone is told
everybody else thinks this way, then they are very likely to think that way as
well. It is plain human nature. However, as Christians we must learn to guard
ourselves against this weakness. We can not just believe everything we read on
the internet or are told by the Media. If our faith
is to survive, we must guard ourselves. We must take everything we are told and
sift through
it until we find the real truth. We need to remember that we are as sheep in the
midst of wolves, and must therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
Jesus commanded us to be
wary of false prophets, but how can we be wary if we blindly believe everything we
are told?
Christians, we have to start opening our eyes to the truth. Satan is alive and
well, and unless
we do something about it, he is going to keep getting stronger. We must start
fighting the inclination to just ‘go with the flow’ and start searching for the
truth and standing upon it.
