Mark 1:15
The Kingdom is at Hand
"And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand:
repent ye, and believe the Gospel." Mark 1:15
The Kingdom of God is at hand. The time to repent is now. Do you believe
the Gospel? Today,
all over the globe there are people in need of a Savior. They have an emptiness
inside they cannot fill. Their lives are being manipulated by satan, a cruel
master who runs to and fro in all the earth seeking whom he may devour. As Christians, we are God’s servants and He has commissioned us to make
conquest upon the devil’s territory. He has called us to take His Word to the
people
so they may be saved. He wants to
bring them into the fold and under the protection of Christ. It
is a hard war that must be fought between
us and the devil. There are times when it seems we
are not winning, but
praise the Lord, we know the end of the story. No matter how dismal things
appear, the
devil’s kingdom will fall, and God’s Kingdom will reign victorious. The key? We
have
to keep fighting. We have to cling to the Gospel. We have to walk knowing
we are a part of
God’s Kingdom. The Devil will fall, as will all who
serve him. I believe our duty, as citizens in the Kingdom of God, is to make the number that go down with him as small as possible.

Mark 3:5
Be Obedient
"And when He had
looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of
their
hearts, He saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it
out: and his
hand was restored whole as the other."
Mark 3:5
When Jesus said,
"Stretch forth thine hand," it may have been hard for the man to obey. He
may
have been embarrassed. He may not have understood. Whatever was going on in his
mind, he did not question, he simply obeyed. As we go through life, we will
sometimes come to an impasse. We know what we should do, but find it hard to do
it. When this happens, we need to remember our job is to be obedient. If we are
where God wants us to be, and are doing HIS will,
no matter how bizarre a
circumstance we are in, He will work out the details. God is in control.
If we follow His commands,
even though it may not be as fast as we would
like, He will work everything together for good. NEN
Mark 3:25
We Must Make the House Stand
"And if a house be
divided against itself, that house cannot stand."
Mark 3:25
As Christians we often forget this simple truth.
We become so concerned about saving the world that we let our own houses fall into disarray. Homes
and families
have become divided. The teenage son in the home is disrespectful to the parents.
Instead of addressing the issue, they
just say, "Oh, it is not a
problem. All teenagers
do it. He will grow out of it." Unknowingly those parents, by not addressing it,
have just let a
seed of dissension sneak into their home. The devil
is smart. As Christians we are commanded to fight him, but often we get so caught up in what damage he
is doing outside of our home, that we forget to examine the inside. As Christians,
our homes are
our family and
our church body. Perilous times are coming. We do not know how soon or how far
away they
are, but the Bible has promised they will come. The question is, will
we be
prepared to
receive them? Will our homes stand strong against the mighty storm? Or, will they
be driven
away as chaff before a summer wind? A house divided against itself cannot stand.
Are you on your guard against dissension? If you want your house to stand, you
need to be.
